Portraits of BlackLove, LLC, is a fine art and graphics company based in Staten Island, New York, that specializes in poetic art and social invitations. PBL was established in 1995 by a group of creative, enterprising Black men who, as they each in turn embarked upon the spiritual journey of marriage, felt a void in the inspirational greetings cards available on the market. They decided that, if they were going to find announcements and stationery that truly paid homage to their ancestry while celebrating the triumphs and struggles of modern life, they would have to do it themselves. The result is a rich variety of art and stationery that makes a powerful cultural statement.

Current PBL products include:

Poetic Art, also called Portraits, is a collection of seventeen individually titled Portraits (works of art) that blend original poetry and art on handmade paper. Individually washed by hand and custom framed, no two portraits are ever identical.

Diompe Hobe Wedding Invitation Collection consists of six titles, each an elegant full-color announcement that pays tribute to the African-American tradition of broom jumping.

Welcome To The Motherland birth announcements and shower invitations are personalized, full color celebration of new life.

Custom art and graphic work is also available upon consultation with a PBL representative.

The company is seeking to launch other products that capture the poignant moments of love, family, struggle, and spiritual inspiration.
